Insulin: Body Weight and Energy Production

I just watched these 3 free downloads and found it very informative.

This is what it's about.

On March 12, 2010, Coach Greg Glassman and a small crew visited Dr. Scott Connelly in the Los Angeles offices of Progenex. The intent was to tap into Dr. Connelly’s vast knowledge of metabolism, particularly as it relates to long-term fitness and health.
The result was over 90 minutes of education about the relationships among glucose, insulin, ATP, protein, body weight and health. This is a dense, fast-moving presentation worthy of multiple viewings.

Some of it was over my head but I still learned so much! You see, I have type 2 diabetes. I have had it for almost 5 years. I take metformin and my blood sugars are pretty good. But, I have lots of the other things that go along with it, like high blood pressure, sleep apnea and others. It has been really hard to lose the weight with these other issues going on but I will save this for a later post.
Anyway, just wanted to share these videos because they have helped me so much. They have confirmed that I am on the right track with doing Crossfit and Paleo/Zone. I absolutely loved Dr. Connely's explanation of why calories in/calories out is HOGWASH! I wish I could fast forward a year from now and see how my body and my health will be with this new program. OH, and by the way, those of you who know Ryan and Lindsay Page, he works for ProgenexUSA! I still need to check out this product but I will keep you POSTED!! *LOL*

  1. From all the research I've been doing Ronda, most if not all your "issues" will be taken care of by the paleo diet (caused by the high carb low fat "healthy" eating the government gave us in the food pyramid! Watch "Fat Head" the movie to find out more)
